Overview

Where Brand Vision
Meets Engineering Reality

A retail display structure is where a brand meets its customer in physical space. It must be architecturally resolved, structurally sound, manufacturable at the quantities the brief demands, and true to the brand aesthetic — in every market, across every rollout.

Clay Lilac brings engineering precision to the point where creative vision and production reality intersect. We translate concept sketches, mood boards, and brand guidelines into fully engineered 3D models with complete production documentation — delivered on your templates, into your PDM vault, ready for your chosen production partners.

From a single bespoke counter unit for a luxury beauty launch to a gondola shelving system rolling out across hundreds of stores, we design structures that perform as intended — every time.

Based in Newmarket, Ontario, we design retail display and visual merchandising structures for brands, retailers, and display manufacturers across the Greater Toronto Area — including Toronto, Mississauga, Markham, Vaughan, Brampton, Richmond Hill, Aurora, and Newmarket — as well as clients across Canada and the United States, all delivered remotely with the same responsiveness as an in-house design team.

Display Types

Structures We Design

From single-unit luxury counters to full retail environment architectures — every structure engineered to the same standard.

TYPE 01
POS Furniture & Display Structures

Counter units, tester stations, sampling displays, and point-of-sale furniture designed for maximum brand impact within the retailer's footprint constraints. Every structural member, jointing detail, and surface treatment engineered for production and assembly.

TYPE 02
Shop-in-Shop Environments

Complete branded retail environments within a host retailer's floor space — structural architecture, wall and ceiling elements, lighting integration recesses, flooring transitions, and all display furniture designed as a single integrated system.

TYPE 03
Pop-Up Retail Architecture

Temporary and semi-permanent brand installations designed for rapid build, maximum visual impact, and efficient breakdown. Structural systems that assemble without specialist tools and demount without damage to the host space.

TYPE 04
Gondola Shelving & Wall Bays

Gondola shelving systems, wall bay architectures, and perimeter display structures designed for the specific product load, adjacency, and planogram requirements of the retail category and store format.

TYPE 05
Freestanding Display Units (FSDU)

Branded FSDUs designed for promotional campaigns, seasonal launches, and in-aisle product presentation. Structural chassis, graphic panel integration, product loading, and stability all resolved in 3D before drawing issue.

TYPE 06
Bespoke Brand Environments

Custom retail architectures for luxury, beauty, fashion, and lifestyle brands where the structural design must carry the same level of refinement as the brand itself. Designed from concept through to production-ready documentation.

Capabilities & Terms

How We Work With You

Everything you need to know before starting a project with Clay Lilac.

01
CAD Environments
SolidWorks & CATIA V5

All retail display work delivered in SolidWorks or CATIA V5. Native part files, assemblies, and drawings issued in your preferred format, checked directly into your SolidWorks PDM or ENOVIA vault on every revision.

02
Design Approach
Concept to Production Documentation

We work from your concept sketches, mood boards, brand guidelines, and retailer specifications to produce fully engineered 3D models with complete production documentation. Creative intent and engineering reality are resolved together — not sequentially.

03
Drafting Standards
Your Templates, Your Standards

Drawings produced on your company templates with your title block, revision tables, and drawing standards. Finish specifications, hardware schedules, and assembly documentation issued in the format your production partners require.

04
NDA & IP
Full IP Transfer

All intellectual property transfers fully to you on completion. NDA executed before any brief, sketch, or brand reference is shared. Your designs, your geometry, your IP — always.

05
Billing
Stage Completion or Biweekly

Stage completion billing ties payments to defined deliverable milestones. Biweekly billing suits longer-running seasonal ranges or campaign programmes. Agreed upfront in writing — no surprises.

06
Engagement Terms
No Strings Attached

End the project at any point with prior notice. No lock-in, no penalties. All work completed to the exit point is delivered to you in full. We earn continued engagement through the quality of work — not contractual obligation.

* Prior notice period as agreed in the project contract.
